This image is of a bronze statue of Saint John the Baptist that is at Mission San Juan Bautista in the central valley of California. The image was cropped to remove the pedestal. The statue was clipped from the image and processed separately. The processing included hand tinting, and processing in layers to add the shadowing to the tinted figure.

The mission church was masked out and rendered in watercolors.

The sky was masked out and several filters were layered to create the storm cloud effect.

After the background was the way I envisioned it I added the statue back into the image centering it on the church roof peak.
