Summer Camping Trip to Jamestown, VA

Our Pack was divided into two groups for the tour of Jamestown.  I went with one group - so I only have that group's activities photographed.
If anyone will share their photos for the other group, we will gladly add them to the site.  Thanks

Some of the photos are blurred due to motion, and some are darker because we turned off the flash during communion and church services.

Our Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts line up from one side of sanctuary to the other and then around down the side of the wall.

The Cub Scout Promise

The Boy Scout Promise followed by Scripture Reading

Weblos II read the following Scout Sunday Poem
written by Mrs. Jessica Houston

God is the potter;
We are the clay.
In His wonderful house,
We stand here today.

To God and our Country,
We promise to do our best,
Our church family will guide us,
Through any trial or test.

We know it takes a church to raise a child,
In all we learn and do.
And the scouts of Sharon Church,
Are very grateful to have you!

So for welcoming us home,
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
For it is a Godly foundation,
That gives us our best start!

Jay Pittman, Scout liaison between Scouts and Sharon United Methodist Church,
presents a  plaque of appreciation to Pastor Clinton White

Then Pastor White leads Holy Communion with the Boy Scouts serving the Wine and the Bread to...
the smallest Tiger Cubs up through Wolf, Bear, Weblos I and II, Boy Scouts,
the Scout leaders and then the entire church.

Pastor and Scouts pray over tithes and offerings.
Pastor White's message was based on Acts 8:5-26.  Simon the Sorcerer

We offer a sincere
THANK YOU to Sharon United Methodist Church for such a warm welcome, and
for becoming our sponsor this past year. We thoroughly enjoyed the service from the joyful songs,
jokes about Mike Houston's Pittsburg Steeler's tie, prayers for the sick and the community and the Pastor's sermon.

We also thank Jessica Houston and Becky Pittman for heading up this event.
